To insure that you are purchasing a custom made western saddle that fits your Gaited, Barrel, Western Pleasure, Friesian, Draft horse, Haflinger or Mule, we can ship you a saddle tree and have you provide us with three photos of the tree on your horses's back. From these photos we will make the evaluation for the "Best Possible Fit" for your horse/mule before we begin designing your custom saddle. You won't find any other saddle manufacturer that provides this service.

We build our saddles using a variety of trees:

Polymer, Fiberglass Covered Wood and Bullhide Covered Wood Trees are guaranteed 5 years. 100% Flex Trees are guaranteed 10 years.

All our saddles are custom and hand-made in the United States using the best American Cowhide we can find. The leather we use is strong, heavy and flexible. You will not see any two custom saddles exactly alike, as each is an original crafted by our saddlemakers. Our saddlemakers are master craftsmen with 35 years of experience making fine quality saddles.

Many of our leather saddles are lined with wool felt.

Advantages of FELT Lining:
Is 3/8" thick - thicker than the synthetic fleece.

Will not bubble as the fleece sometimes may.

Fills in gaps between equine's back and saddle.

Wicks moisture away from the equine's back.

The felt is more durable.

Adds body and fullness to the skirts.

Our grade of felt is the best available. This is a very nice upgrade to our saddles with no additional costs to our customer.

Also available is the upgrade to mid-range fleece (looks and feels like real fleece).

And, of course, you can upgrade to genuine sheep's fleece with the leather backing.

Our standard seat sizes for our custom built western saddles range from 13" to 17" (no half sizes). Select models available in 18" to 22" seat.

We use suede or slick leather and colors vary. Suede Seat Colors are: Purple (Directly Below,)Dark Green, Rust, Chocolate Brown, Sky Blue, Black, Pink, Lime Green, Dark Purple (Discontinued), Red and Royal Blue. Smooth Leather seat colors are: Black and Dark Brown.

It's EASY to Build A Saddle To YOUR Specifications:
First YOU choose the style of the custom saddle you want; then the color; the type of leather (if you want the "top of the line" leather or the regular leather); the tooling; seat size; suede seat or smooth leather seat; lining of felt, synthetic fleece or real fleece; stirrup style; upgrade to leather on strap and billet strap; do you want matching bridle and breastcollar. Pretty simple.

 
Tree Fitting:
To insure a good fitting saddle BEFORE the custom made saddle is built, we offer to send out the tree we feel would be the best fit for your horse. To do this, we ask for a $125 deposit on the tree and $32 shipping/insurance. When the tree is returned to us, we credit your account with the $125 deposit towards your saddle purchase. If you do not purchase from us, the $125 will be returned to you.

We cannot allow returns on custom-made saddles, so it is important to find the correct tree fit. We do send you instructions on how to fit the tree. We ask for digital photos (three) if possible. With your knowledge or that of a friend's, and the photos, we can determine if the tree is a good fit. The three photos would show us:
1) Distance from underside of tree gullet to top of the equine's withers.
2) How the bars fit the sides, for instance: do they poke your horse's ribs, flair out, or lay flat?
3) Can you see daylight from the back of the tree through to the front? (We want to bridge the equine's spine to keep the weight off the spine). We do not use "coat hanger" or paper drawing template measurements because they are usually inaccurate and unreliable. A "coat hanger" measurement measures only a small portion of your horse's entire back. We need to see gullet width fit, the bar fit from front to back and if the saddle will sit on your horse's spine. This is a Win Win Situation for you and your horse.
