Our draft horse trees have flared bars which are designed flatter to fit the wide back of the draft horse. And to ensure that you are purchasing a saddle that fits your draft horse, haflinger or mule, we can ship you the saddle tree before we begin making your saddle. You won't find any other saddle manufacturer that provides this service.
We build our saddles using a variety of trees:
1. Polymer Tree
2. Wood Tree: Option for Covering could be Fiberglass Wrapped or Bull Hide Wrapped (Rawhide)
3. Flex Tree

Polymer, Fiberglass Covered Wood and Bullhide Covered Wood Trees are guaranteed 5 years. 100% Flex Trees are guaranteed 10 years.
All our saddles are custom and hand-made in the United States of the best American Cowhide we can find. The leather we use is strong, heavy and flexible. You will not see any two saddles exactly alike, as each is an original crafted by our saddlemakers. Our saddlemakers are master craftsmen with 35 years of experience making fine quality saddles.

Many of our leather saddles are lined with wool felt.
Advantages of FELT Lining:
Is 3/8” thick–much thicker than the synthetic.
Will not bubble as the fleece sometimes may.
Fills in gaps between equine's back and saddle.
Wicks moisture away from the equine’s back.
The felt is more durable.
Adds body and fullness to the skirts.
Our grade of felt is the best available. This is a very nice upgrade to our saddles with no additional costs to our customer.
Our Cordura Saddles will continue to have synthetic fleece. These skirts cannot be lined with felt, as the felt material is too thick to run through our binding machines.
Also available is the upgrade to mid-range fleece (looks and feels like real fleece).
And, of course, you can upgrade to genuine sheep's fleece with the leather backing.
Our standard seat sizes range from 13" to 17" (no half sizes). Select models available in 18" to 22" seat.
We use suede or slick leather and colors vary. Suede Seat Colors are: Dark Green, Rust, Chocolate Brown, Sky Blue, Pink, Lime Gree, Purple, Red, Royal Blue and Black. Smooth Leather seat colors are: Black and Dark Brown.
To insure a good fitting saddle BEFORE the saddle is built, we offer to send out the tree we feel would be the best fit for your horse. To do this, we ask for a $125 deposit on the tree and $28 shipping/insurance. When the tree is returned to us, we credit your account with the $125 deposit towards your saddle purchase. If you do not purchase from us, the $125 will be returned to you. If necessary to send two trees, it would be a $250 tree deposit and $35 shipping/insurance.
We cannot allow returns on custom-made saddles, so it is important to find the correct tree fit. We do send you instructions on how to fit the tree. We ask for digital photos (three) if possible. With your knowledge or that of a friend's, and the photos, we can determine if the tree is a good fit. The three photos would show us:
1) Distance from underside of tree gullet to top of the equine’s withers.
2) How the bars fit the sides, for instance: do they poke your horse’s ribs, flair out, or lay flat?
3) Can you see daylight from the back of the tree through to the front? (We want to bridge the equine’s spine to keep the weight off the spine).
